The Canton of Blangy-le-Château was 2015 a French canton in the department of Calvados and in the former region Basse-Normandie . It comprised 15 parishes in the Arrondissement of Lisieux ; its main town (French: chef-lieu ) was Blangy-le-Château . The nationwide changes in the composition of the cantons resulted in its dissolution in March 2015. The last representative in the General Council of the Département was (since 2001, re-elected in 2008) Hubert Courseaux.
history
The canton was founded on March 4, 1790 as part of the establishment of the departments as part of what was then the "District de Pont-l'Évêque". With the creation of the arrondissements on February 17, 1800, the canton was redesigned as part of what was then the arrondissement of Pont-l'Évêque. On September 10, 1926, the arrondissement Pont-l'Évêque was dissolved and the canton was added to the arrondissement Lisieux.

The canton bordered the canton of Pont-l'Évêque in the north-west, the cantons of Beuzeville and Cormeilles in the Bernay arrondissement in the Eure department ( Haute-Normandie ) to the north-east and east, and the cantons Lisieux-1 and Lisieux-3 and in the south Southwest to the canton of Cambremer .
