Lion-sur-Mer is located around 15 km north-northeast of Caen . In the north and northeast or east, the municipality borders on the English Channel . Lion-sur-Mer is otherwise surrounded by Hermanville-sur-Mer in the south-east and south, Cresserons in the south-west and Luc-sur-Mer in the west.
