Croisilles is a French municipality with 646 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Calvados in the region of Normandy ; it belongs to the arrondissement of Caen and the canton of Thury-Harcourt . The inhabitants are called Croisillais .

geography

Croisilles is located about 20 kilometers south-southwest of Caen in the hill country of the Norman Switzerland . The Orne River forms the western boundary of the municipality. Croisilles is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Les Moutiers-en-Cinglais in the north, Espins in the east, Cesny-les-Sources with Placy in the south-east, Esson in the south, Thury-Harcourt in the south-west, Curcy-sur-Orne in the west and Ouffières in the north-west .

The former route nationale 162 (today's D562) runs through the municipality .
