Placy is a village and a former French commune of 157 (as at 1st January 2017) in the department of Calvados in the region of Normandy . It belonged to the arrondissement of Caen and the canton of Thury-Harcourt .
With effect from January 1, 2019, the former municipalities of Cesny-Bois-Halbout , Acqueville , Angoville , Placy and Tournebu were merged to form the Commune nouvelle Cesny-les-Sources and have the status of a Commune déléguée in the new municipality . The administrative headquarters are in Cesny-Bois-Halbout.
geography
Placy is about 20 kilometers northwest of Falaise and 25 kilometers south of Caen . The village is surrounded by Croisilles in the north-west and north, Espins in the north-east, Cesny-Bois-Halbout in the east, Meslay in the south-east, Donnay in the south and Esson in the south-west and west.
