Cesny-Bois-Halbout is a village and a former French commune of 605 (as at 1st January 2017) in the department of Calvados in the region of Normandy . It belonged to the arrondissement of Caen and the canton of Thury-Harcourt . The inhabitants are called Ceiterniciens .
With effect from January 1, 2019, the former municipalities of Cesny-Bois-Halbout , Acqueville , Angoville , Placy and Tournebu were merged to form the Commune nouvelle Cesny-les-Sources and have the status of a Commune déléguée in the new municipality . The administrative headquarters are in Cesny-Bois-Halbout.

Cesny-Bois-Halbout is located around 23 km south of Caen and 19 km northwest of Falaise . The town is surrounded by Fresney-le-Vieux in the north, Barbery in the northeast, Moulines in the east, Acqueville in the southeast, Meslay in the south, Placy in the southwest, Croisilles in the west and Espins in the northwest.
