Delia Juergens

Delia Jürgens (* 1986 in Hanover ) is a German painter and installation artist.

Delia Jürgens studied fine arts at the Braunschweig University of Art with Frances Scholz and Asta Gröting from 2008 to 2014 and scenography at the Hanover University of Applied Sciences and Arts with Colin Walker from 2008 to 2012 . In 2012 she completed studies in New Mexico, Mexico City and New York, and in 2013 in Los Angeles. Delia Jürgens received the Artist-in-Residence grant from the Künstlerhaus Meinersen (2015), the annual grant from the Lower Saxony Ministry for Science and Culture (2016) and the work grant from the Art Fund Foundation (2019). In 2018 she was awarded the Sprengel Prize of the Lower Saxony Sparkasse Foundation and the Sprengel Museum.

Jürgens' works have been shown in group and solo exhibitions in international institutions such as the Guangdong Museum of Art Guangzhou (CHN), the Sprengel Museum Hannover (GER), the ZKM | Center for Art and Media Karlsruhe (GER), the Kestnergesellschaft Hannover (GER), the Heidelberger Kunstverein (GER), the Kunstverein Hannover (GER), in the Garden Gallery Los Angeles (US), _Tim Nolas Wien (AUT) and the Kunstverein Langenhagen (GER) and is represented in the private collections of Rosemarie Trockel and Sabine DuMont Schütte.

Delia Jürgens' work deals with questions of contemporary painting in the information age. At the same time, she has been working on the DIS-PLAY project since 2012.

Jürgens lives in Hanover, Berlin and Los Angeles.
