Robin Schembera (born October 1, 1988 ) is a former German athlete who specialized in the 800-meter run .

career path

Schembera attended the district administrator Lucas Gymnasium Leverkusen and completed a bachelor's degree as a police commissioner at the FHöV Cologne .

Athletic career

In 2005 Robin Schembera's career began with a 6th place at the U18 World Championships in Marrakech.

In 2006 Schembera retired in the semi-finals of the Junior World Championships.

In 2007 Schembera became Junior European Champion over 800 meters and Vice Junior European Champion with the 4 x 400 meter relay. In the same year Schembera surprised with 3rd place at the European Cup in Munich. He also achieved a new German indoor youth record over 800 meters in 1: 47.56 minutes.

In 2008 he won 2nd place in the Indoor European Cup with the relay (800-600-400-200 m) and was 4th in the European Cup in Annecy.

In 2009 he achieved the bronze medal at the U23 European Championships over 800 meters.

In 2011 Schembera reached the final of the European Indoor Championships in Paris and had to give up there due to an injury.

In 2015 Schembera again reached the final at the European Indoor Championships in Prague and came in 5th.

Schembera achieved a total of 10 German championship titles and a youth indoor record.

Schembera was in the squad of the German Athletics Association (DLV) . In February 2018 he announced the end of his competitive sports career.
