Ida Marcussen (born November 1, 1987 in Kristiansand ) is a Norwegian heptathlete .
Life
Marcussen won the national junior heptathlon championship in 2004. In 2005 she took part in the Junior European Championships, where she was sixth. In 2006 she won the silver medal at the Junior World Championships. At the World Athletics Championships in Osaka in 2007 , after taking part in the professional class for the first time, she finished 11th. At the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing , she reached 21st place. A year later she started again at the U23 European Championships in Kaunas , where she came in seventh place. At the World Athletics Championships in Berlin in 2009 , she came in 25th after the first good interim results. At the 2012 Summer Olympics in London , she finished 28th. As a guest starter at the German World Cup qualification 2013 in Ratingen , she finished the heptathlon in fourth place with the third best result of her career and a total of 6140 points. At the World Championships in Moscow he was 18th with 5996 points, as was the European Championships in Zurich in 2014.
In 2015 she won the silver medal behind the German Anna Maiwald at the Summer Universiade in Gwangju, South Korea . She finished the World Championships in Beijing in 25th place.
Marcussen was initially a handball player, but was discovered for athletics by Elke G. Udelhoven. Since 2004 she has been trained by Lukas Udelhoven.
