The men's 400-meter run at the 2012 European Athletics Championships was held from June 27 to 29, 2012 in the Olympic Stadium in the Finnish capital Helsinki .

The European champion was the Czech Pavel Maslák . Silver went to the Hungarian Marcell Deák Nagy . The French Yannick Fonsat took third place.

The Italian Marco Vistalli stopped his run probably because of a cramp, but continued his race walking and reached the finish after more than four minutes.
