Eric Kruger

Eric Krüger (born March 21, 1988 in Oschatz , Leipzig district , GDR ) is a former German athlete. His greatest successes were bronze with the 4 x 400 meter relay at the European Championships in 2012 and eleventh place in the same year at the Olympic Games in London .

Eric Krüger started his career at Dresdner SC and moved to SC Magdeburg in 2009 , where he trained with Marco Kleinsteuber. After the 2016 season he switched to LV 90 Erzgebirge and was trained there by Tony Lester and Jörg Möckel.

At the Junior European Championships in 2007, Krüger finished third in the 400-meter run in 46.49 s , with the 4-by-400-meter relay he finished second. In 2009 and 2010 he took third place at the German indoor championships. Outdoors he finished fourth in 2009 and came third in 2010 behind Kamghe Gaba and Thomas Schneider . In 2011 Krüger took second place behind Jonas Plass , in 2012 and again in 2015 he won the title, in 2015 also with the SC Magdeburg relay. In 2014 and 2016 he was German indoor champion.

Since 2009, Krüger has also been part of the 4 x 400 meter relay in the national jersey. While he missed the final at the 2009 World Championships , he only ran in the preliminary run in 2011 and was replaced in the final by Miguel Rigau . At the European Championships in 2010 he came in the final for Jonas Plass in the season that took fourth place. At the European Championships in 2012 , Krüger did not join the relay until the final for Niklas Zender , who won the bronze medal with the cast of Jonas Plass, Kamghe Gaba, Eric Krüger and Thomas Schneider; previously he was eliminated in the individual competition in the second round.

Krüger ended his sporting career in autumn 2017.

Eric Krüger has been with the Federal Police since 2008.
