The 61st German Indoor Athletics Championships took place on February 22nd and 23rd in the Leipzig Arena . For the fifth time, Leipzig was the host. With a total of 7,500 spectators, the arena was sold out.

Outsourced competitions

The all-round competitions and walking competitions were held on February 1st and 2nd in the athletics hall in Frankfurt-Kalbach at the parallel German indoor all-around championships and the German indoor walking championships. The 3 x 1000 meter relay competed on February 16 as part of the German Youth Indoor Championships in Sindelfingen.
