Robin Erewa
Robin Erewa (born June 24, 1991 in Oberhausen ) is a German athlete . The 1.81 m tall and 81 kg heavy sprinter specializes in the 200 meter run . He starts for the TV Wattenscheid 01 athletics and is trained by André Ernst.
Career
The son of a Nigerian father first played soccer before switching to athletics at the age of 12. At the German indoor championships in Karlsruhe in 2010 , Erewa secured the title in the 4 x 200 meter relay together with Sebastian Ernst , Alexander Kosenkow and Willi Mathiszik . In the same year he became German youth champion in the 100 and 200 meter run. He also took third place over 100 meters at the German Junior Championships. At the Athletics Junior World Championships in Moncton , he reached fifth place in the 200-meter run and the 4-by-100-meter relay .
In 2011, Erewa increased his personal best over 200 meters at the German Junior Championships in Bremen to 20.90 seconds. At the U23 European Championships in Ostrava , he won the bronze medal with the German 4 x 100 meter relay. A week later he won the 200-meter run at the German championships in Kassel . The DLV then nominated him for the German 4 x 100 meter relay at the World Championships in Daegu .
At the German indoor championships in Karlsruhe in 2012 , Erewa won the championship title with the Wattenscheider 4 x 200 meter relay. Julian Reus , Robin Erewa, Alexander Kosenkow and Christian Blum ran the German record in 1: 23.90 minutes . At the German outdoor championships in 2012 , which were held in the Lohrheide stadium at home , Erewa won with the Wattenscheid 4 x 100 meter relay.
In 2017 Erewa was in Leipzig in 20.52 seconds over the 200 m German indoor champion . During this time he came up to a tenth of Sebastian Ernst's German indoor record , which he had also set in Leipzig in 2011, and Erewa took second place in the all-time German indoor best list.
