The 56th German Indoor Athletics Championships took place from February 21 to 22 in the Leipzig Arena . For the third time, Leipzig was the host.
Karlsruhe was originally intended as the venue. Changes in the international calendar forced the Badischer Leichtathletik-Verband (BLV) to cancel the event , and so the Athletics Association of Saxony (LVS) and the city of Leipzig hosted the event.
Outsourced competitions
The all- round competitions were held on January 31st and February 1st at the German Indoor All-Around Championships in the Hamburg Athletics Hall . The 3 x 1000 meter relay competed on February 15 as part of the German Youth Indoor Championships in Neubrandenburg.
