Annett Horna

Annett Horna (born February 4, 1987 in Magdeburg ) is a former German athlete who was particularly successful in the 800-meter run and the 1500-meter run .

Life

Her first big success with the adults was the victory at the German Championships 2008 in the 4 x 400 meter run with the relay of TSV Bayer Leverkusen ( Caroline Dieckhöner , Maren Schott , Annett Horna, Sorina Nwachukwu ; 3: 40.94 min). In 2009, 2010 and 2011 the Leverkusen women were able to defend the title. In 2008 and 2012 she was German champion with the Leverkusen 3 × 800 m relay. 2008 together with Saskia Janssen and Kerstin Marxen and 2012 together with Lena Menzel and Carolin Walter .

At the Junior European Championships 2005 in Kaunas ( Lithuania ) she was eighth over 800 meters. At the Junior World Championships 2006 (U20) in Beijing , Horna was eliminated in the 800-meter run in the semifinals and at the U23 European Championships in 2009 in Kaunas in the preliminary run. She won her first national individual title at the German Indoor Championships in 2009. In the open air, she was runner-up in 2009 and 2010. In 2013 she won the 1500 meter run at the German Indoor Championships. Horna was able to successfully defend this title in her adopted home Leipzig in 2014.

Horna has been focusing more on long-haul routes since 2015. At the German half marathon championships in 2015, she finished third on her debut at this distance.

Horna is 1.68 m tall and has a competition weight of 53 kg. After stints at Euskirchener TSC, TuS Wesseling and Sportfreunde Wünschheim Büllesheim, the student teacher trained at Bayer Leverkusen from autumn 2002. In autumn 2012 she followed her long-time trainer Adi Zaar to LC Rehlingen . In 2016 Horna moved to SV Halle , where her trainer Melanie Schulz lived and she herself is active as a trainer in the children's area. Horna ended her competitive sports career at the beginning of 2017.
