Christoph Jamnitzer
Christoph Jamnitzer (born May 11, 1563 in Nuremberg ; † December 22, 1618 ibid) was a Nuremberg draftsman and goldsmith of the late Renaissance . He made metal globes and the Mohrenkopf Cup of the Saxon Treasure . The cup is a drinking vessel in the shape of a head, the top of which can be removed. It can be admired in the Bavarian National Museum in Munich (Inv.-No. 2000 / 81.1-2). It has a current estimate of 3.83 million euros.
In 1602, Christoph Jamnitzer was named a member of the Greater Nuremberg Council .
Christoph Jamnitzer is the grandson of the Nuremberg goldsmith Wenzel Jamnitzer (1507 / 08–1585). In 1592 he acquired the master's license. He was a goldsmith, draftsman and graphic artist. Eppenbach (1567-1640), widowed with his wife Clara Glatz, had three sons and daughters.
