The LC Rehlingen (Leichtathletikclub Rehlingen eV) is an athletics club from Rehlingen-Siersburg in Saarland , which was founded on May 27, 1957.

history

In 1962, the club organized an international sports festival for the first time, which has been held annually at Whitsun in the Rehlinger Bungertstadion. Well-known athletes from the early days of the club are the javelin thrower Karl John and the middle-distance runner Jürgen May . In the meantime, the club was called LC Trewa-Sport Rehlingen and LC asics Rehlingen . On May 26, 1980 Dietmar Mögenburg set the world record in the high jump at the Whitsun Sports Festival of LC Rehlingen with 2.35 m . Currently (March 2017) athletes of the LC Rehlingen hold a total of ten Saarland state records, including the politician Anke Rehlinger , who has held the national record for women in the shot put (16.03 m) since 1996 .
