Anne-Kathrin Elbe

Anne-Kathrin Elbe (born February 24, 1987 in Dessau ) is a former German athlete . Her specialty was the 100 meter hurdles .

Life

Elbe started in the course of her career for SC Magdeburg , TSV Bayer 04 Leverkusen and LAZ Leipzig . She was very successful at a young age. She won several German championship titles in the youth and junior sector.

At the U20 European Championships in 2005, she was seventh. Two years later she won the silver medal at the U23 European Championships with the German 4 x 100 meter relay (Anne-Kathrin Elbe, Verena Sailer , Mareike Peters , Anne Möllinger ) . With the 4 x 200 meter relay of TSV Bayer Leverkusen Elbe won the German championship title at the indoor championships in 2008 , 2009 and 2010 . In the individual over 100 meter hurdles she was German junior champion in 2009 and German runner-up in 2011 in Kassel . After persistent injury problems, she retired in November 2013.

In 2007 Elbe was awarded the Heidi-Krieger-Medal . Thomas Springstein had given her an anabolic steroid to take in 2003 and claimed that it was a matter of vitamins. Her testimony led to Springstein's conviction. Elbe is with the federal police .
