The 65th German Indoor Athletics Championships took place on February 17 and 18, 2018 in Dortmund in the Helmut-Körnig-Halle . It was the eleventh German championships in this hall. These indoor championships were also important for the athletes in order to qualify for participation in the 2018 World Indoor Championships in Birmingham ( Great Britain ).
Outsourced competitions
Various competitions were not held as part of this event for reasons of time or organization. In 2018 these were:
- 3 x 800 meter relay : February 25th in the Brandberge sports hall in Halle (Saale)
- 3 x 1000 meter relay : February 25th in the Brandberge sports hall in Halle (Saale)
- 3000-meter track walking : March 2nd in the Erfurt athletics hall
- 5000-meter track walking : March 2nd in the Erfurt athletics hall
In the absence of an organizer, the all-around competitions (pentathlon or heptathlon) did not take place this year.
