Clemens Bohrstein (born September 29, 1990 in Stuttgart-Bad Cannstatt / Baden-Württemberg ) is a German athlete who runs medium and long distances . His main disciplines are the 3000 and 5000 meter races .
career path
After studying human medicine , in addition to sports, he is writing his doctoral thesis in sports medicine at the Technical University of Munich and doing press work for his club. In his free time he likes to play soccer or volleyball . In 2016/2017 he did a practical year as a doctor and put his sporting activities on hold. From April 1, 2018, from April 2018, he will be working as an assistant doctor, initially 50 percent with a view to the European Championships in Berlin .
Athletic career
Lead stone came to sport through school sport and tennis training , where he was faster than the other boys and athletics was suggested to him.
In 2009, at the age of 19, he won the Nikolauslauf in Tübingen , and in the following year and 2012 he also won the 21.1 kilometers through the snow.
In 2013 and 2015 he was Bavarian champion over 1500 meters.
At the European Indoor Championships in Prague , despite his personal best performance, he missed his wish to make it to the finals and finished in 9th place.
Lead stone is also active as a pacemaker. At Munich Indoor 2015, for example , after he had just won the 1500 meter run , a few minutes later he gave Corinna Harrer the running tractor , since there was no equally strong competitor in her 1500 meter run, and she won 4: Wanted to undercut the 20-minute time, which she managed to achieve with 4:18:57 minutes thanks to lead stone.
In 2016 he won bronze at the German indoor championships over 3000 m and came in 5th place at the German championships over 5000 m.
In 2017 he had interrupted his sporting career due to a work-related internship as a doctor. In October Pencil Stein won the ten-kilometer race at the Munich Marathon in 30:37 minutes . Then in December the Munich Nikolauslauf, as in 2013 and 2014, only this time in 30:26 minutes and thus two seconds over the course record.
In 2018, on February 3, at the CMCM Indoor Meeting in the Center National Sportif et Culturel (D'Coque) on the Luxembourg Kirchberg, Pencil Stein increased his 1500 meter best time to 3: 41.53 min. On February 11th, at the Meeting Elite en Salle in Metz ( France ) , he improved his personal best over 3000 m to 7: 51.51 min, with which he also fulfilled the standard for the World Indoor Championships in Birmingham ( England ). A week later he competed in the German indoor championships in Dortmund over 3000 m and was able to run silver just behind Richard Ringer . At the World Indoor Championships in Birmingham he reached the final with a personal best of 7: 49.01 min and finished 8th there.
Due to his achievements at the World Indoor Championships in Birmingham , in March 2018 he was subsequently appointed to the perspective squad of the German Athletics Association .
Club affiliations
Pencil has been working for LG Stadtwerke München (LG SWM) since 2013 . Before that he was at LAV Tübingen and TV Cannstatt .
