LG Kurpfalz
The LG Kurpfalz ( Athletics Community Kurpfalz ) was founded in 1969 by the clubs TV Altlußheim, HSV Hockenheim, DJK Hockenheim, TSG Ketsch , TSV Oftersheim, TB Germania Reilingen, SV Rohrhof, SV 98 Schwetzingen and TV Schwetzingen in 1864 and in 1970 athletes entered for the first time their name. The member clubs are the athletics departments of sports clubs around the two cities of Schwetzingen and Hockenheim . Thus, the LG is located in the south of the Rhein-Neckar district in the Baden Athletics Association .
In 2019, 50 years after it was founded, athletes aged 12 and over from the following 8 clubs will start for the LG:

- TB Germania Neulußheim (joined 1977)
- TSV Oftersheim
- TSG Eintracht Plankstadt (joined 1971)
- TB Germania Reilingen
- SV Rohrhof

From 1972 to 1990 the LG was called "LG coop Kurpfalz". During this time she was supported by the regional representation of the trading company coop AG .

1973 | With Karlheinz Weisenseel and Rüdiger Harksen (both DJK Hockenheim) the LG provides half of the DLV relay over 4 × 100 m at the Junior European Championships in Duisburg. She reached the 3rd place. This would remain LG's greatest sporting success for many years. Weisenseel reached the semi-finals in the 200 m run. |
1974 | Elke Klebert (HSV Hockenheim) wins the German championship title of female youth A with the discus. |
1981 | After 1978, the then 37-year-old Doris Schlosser won the South German championship title in the women's 25 km run for the second time. |
1988 | German champion in the female youth B heptathlon team: Sonja Meckes (TBG Neulußheim), Claudia Dinkel (TV Schwetzingen) and Heike Schwarz (TSV Oftersheim) |
1988 | Walter Bauer (HSV Hockenheim) takes silver and bronze at the Senior European Championships. Bauer also came second in the 400 m hurdles and third in the triple jump. |
1999 | The Altlußheimer Rolf Kremer becomes German champion of the M14 in the litter block competition . In the same year he also won ten titles from Baden. |
2009 | The 4x100m relay of the female U16 with Malaika Mihambo , Carina Frey, Chantal Berg and Marie Kias (all TSV Oftersheim) achieved a German best performance until 2018.

2018 | The numerous successes of Malaika Mihambo are documented on your own page. The highlights of her career are the victories in the women's long jump at the EM 2018 in Berlin and at the 2019 World Cup in Doha. |
Other personalities
(Partly from the time before the LG was founded)
- Brigitte Berendonk - As an athlete of TV Schwetzingen 1959 German youth champion in pentathlon. Later German champion with the ball and well-known anti-doping activist.
- Dietmar Chounard - LG coach from 1988–1990, later DLV junior national coach.
- Werner Heger - 1960 German youth champion shot put for TBG Reilingen. Later German champion for USC Heidelberg, then national coach and in 2019 athletics coach for Malaika Mihambo.
- Walter Koch - Head of Department at SV Schwetzingen. Main engine of 10 national sports festivals and the 1973 German Youth Championships in the Schwetzingen municipal stadium.
- Hans Motzenbäcker - co-initiator of the LG (although "his" FV Brühl only joined in 2006). Later president of the Baden and the South German Athletics Association.
- Gerhard Stratthaus - active athlete in the FV Brühl (disciplines shot put and high jump). Later mayor of first Brühl, then Schwetzingen. Finance Minister of Baden-Württemberg.
