Karlheinz Weisenseel

Karlheinz Weisenseel (born January 23, 1954 in Mannheim ) is a former German athlete who was successful in the sprint in the 1970s .

Life

He started at the European Junior Championships in 1973 over 200 meters and in the German 4 x 100 meter relay (Karlheinz Weisenseel, Klaus-Günther Lemke, Rüdiger Harksen , Helmut Leibner), with which he won the bronze medal in 40.66 seconds. The following year he was German junior champion over 100 meters.

In the adult sector, Weisenseel was particularly successful in the hall. From 1975 to 1978 he was German indoor champion over 200 meters four times in a row. In 1976 he also won the 60 meter title . 1976 was Weisenseel's best year outdoors as well. At the German Championships in 1976 in Frankfurt's Waldstadion, he won over 200 meters and became runner-up over 100 meters . Hand-stopped on September 5, 1976 in Schwetzingen, it set a German record over 200 meters in 20.4 seconds.

Internationally, Weisenseel took part in the European Indoor Championships in 1976 in Munich and 1982 in Milan, without reaching the finals. In 1980 he was in the fictional squad for the Olympic Games in Moscow, which were boycotted by the Federal Republic.

Weisenseel started for PSV Mannheim , LG coop Kurpfalz , LG Frankfurt , MTG Mannheim and LAC Quelle Fürth .
