The Brandberge sports hall is a multifunctional sports and multi-purpose hall on the Kreuzvorwerk / Brandberge site of the city of Halle an der Saale in Saxony-Anhalt .

history

The new building of the hall was decided by the city council in October 1994 in order to establish the city of Halle an der Saale as a center of excellence for German sport in the long term. After 34 months of construction, it was handed over on December 20, 1997.

The athletics hall is equipped with four 200-meter circular tracks, eight 60-meter competition tracks, one long or three-jump facility each, a high jump facility, a pole vault facility and a shot put facility, and the additional running hose with six 110-meter Training tracks and a training facility for long and triple jumps increases the total usable area of ​​the hall to 9,400 m².

Although it is mainly equipped for athletics, it can be converted at short notice for apparatus gymnastics or badminton as well as ball sports (e.g. basketball , handball , soccer , volleyball ) or disabled sports , gymnastics , dance , martial arts and other sports.

Next to the hall is a throwing facility, also called the Brandberge throwing center.
