The ABC Ludwigshafen ( A thletik- und B allspiel c lub eV) is an athletics club based in Ludwigshafen am Rhein .
history
It was founded in 1963 , emerged from Phönix Ludwigshafen (PX), which was founded in 1949. Financial reasons were the deciding factor for the separation of the athletics department. Anita Wörner was one of the first successful female athletes in the new club. From 1973 to 1977 the athletes of the club started in the LG Ludwigshafen and then until 1983 in the LAV Rala Ludwigshafen , to which a further dozen clubs belonged. In 1979 Hans Giesa , Günther Lenske , Andreas Baranski and Wolfgang Frombold wonthe German championship in 7: 28.1 minutes over 4 × 800 m. The ABC Ludwigshafen training area is located on the sports facility of the Südweststadion . The adjacent athletics hall is a training facility for the Rhineland-Palatinate / Saarland Olympic base .
