Wolfgang Frombold

Wolfgang Frombold (born January 11, 1959 in Neuhofen ) is a former German athlete who was active in the middle distance .

In 1977 he took part in the European Junior Championships in Donetsk . Over 800 meters, Frombold was eliminated in the preliminary run, but with the German 4 x 400 meter relay he came in fifth in the final. In 1979 he became German junior champion over 800 meters. In the same year he became German champion in the adult area with the Ludwigshafen 4 x 800 meter relay ( Hans Giesa , Günther Lenske , Andreas Baranski , Wolfgang Frombold) in 7: 28.1 minutes. The following year he was able to defend his German junior title. In the hall, Frombold won the German championship title in 1982 with the 3 x 1000 meter relay ( Ralf Eckert , Wolfgang Frombold, Andreas Baranski) in 7: 08.02 minutes.

Frombold started for VfL Neuhofen , LAV Rala Ludwigshafen and MTG Mannheim .
