Friedelinde Petershofen (born August 19, 1995 in Oldenburg , Lower Saxony ) is a German athlete who specializes in the pole vault . She denies u. a. also 60-meter runs and all -around disciplines.
career path
In 2013 Petershofen graduated from Herbartgymnasium Oldenburg and began a voluntary social year in university sports at the University of Oldenburg . In 2014 she moved to SC Potsdam and began studying sport and biology at the University of Potsdam for teaching in upper secondary level.
Athletic career
As a child , Petershofen was very successful in gymnastics until she finally got too big for the parallel bars - she then successfully worked in parallel gymnastics and athletics. In 2008 she jumped over 3.00 m for the first time. In the same year 'Fredi' became German champion in the gymnastics 'Deutsche-Sechskampf W12-13' of the DTB and in 2009 German champion in the athletic 'Blockwettkampf-Litter' of the DLV .
Despite his initial success, Petershofen initially did not like the pole vault very much, but stayed with athletics and concentrated on the pole vault again at the age of 17. She won several titles at regional and northern German championships for the DSC Oldenburg .
At the beginning of the 2014/2015 winter semester, she left Oldenburg for study reasons and started working for SC Potsdam . If she had previously suspended training for one to two weeks, especially in the winter months, the sport at the Olympic base in Potsdam was no longer a minor matter. At the beginning of 2015, she made her first 4-meter jump and came 8th at the German Indoor Championships .
In 2016 Petershofen became German U23 pole vault champion and took 8th place at the German championships .
In 2017 she was again German U23 champion . At the German Championships , Petershofen came in 3rd place with a personal best of 4.55 m and with this height had also met the norm for the World Championships in London , where she came in 20th with a height of 4.20 m could not qualify for the final.
In mid-January 2018, Petershofen improved her personal indoor record to 4.51 m at the pole vault meeting in Potsdam . A month later she won 3rd place at the German Indoor Championships in Dortmund with a jumped height of 4.41 m. In the summer season, Petershofen was affected by lengthy back problems after an unfavorable landing in training. In March she had landed on her stomach after doing a backward double somersault while doing gymnastics training, and the consequences affected the summer season.
In 2019 Petershofen had to suspend the indoor season due to persistent back problems due to the unfortunate landing in the double somersault.
Petershofen became a member of the Weser-Ems E-Squad of the Lower Saxony Athletics Association (NLV) in 2008 , a member of the 2012/2013 state pole vault team and a member of the 2013/2014 national pole vault team. In 2016 she was accepted into the B-team and after the competitive sports reform 2017/18 is a perspective team of the German Athletics Association (DLV) .
