Anjuli Knasche (born October 18, 1993 in Preetz / Schleswig-Holstein ) is a former German athlete who specialized in the pole vault .
career path
After graduating from high school, she first studied ecotrophology , but in order to be more flexible for sport, she took up a degree in economics at the Open University in Hagen . Knasche was able to get an internship that was necessary for his studies through Sporthilfe and the Springboard Future - Sport and Career initiative .
Athletic career
In 2002 Knasche came to athletics through her father and initially played mainly running disciplines until she was 11 years old when she came to the pole vault in a decathlon training for everyone in Kiel and jumped 2.00 m that year.
From 2008 to 2010 she won the North German Championships in the B-Youth (U18) three times in a row, each with a considerable gap to the runner-up.
In 2010 Knasche moved to Westerland , but had to train in the school gym due to the lack of sports facilities . Sabine Schulte created the training plan for her . She drove to Hamburg for four hours to jump at the weekend.
In 2011 she crossed four meters for the first time and reached 6th place in her first international appearance at the U20 European Championships and became German U20 champion .
In 2012 Knasche took 4th place at the U20 World Championships and became German U20 Champion .
In 2013 she reached 3rd place in the adult area with 4.45 m at the German Championships .
By moving to the Olympiastützpunkt Potsdam in October 2014 , her training opportunities improved considerably. In previous years she had to take several hours of driving into account to jump.
In 2014 Knasche took 6th place with a national record at the German Indoor Championships and was German U23 runner-up .
In 2015 she won the German U23 championship title .
In 2016 Knasche skipped 4.55 m at the German University Championships with a personal best and was not only German University Champion, but also fulfilled the standard for the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro , but did not make it into the squad.
In 2017, she finished fifth at the German Indoor Championships and 12th at the German Championships . In mid-July she was nominated by the General German University Sports Association (adh) for the Summer Universiade in Taipei , where she reached 6th place.
In 2018 Knasche again reached fifth place at the German Indoor Championships and came fourth at the German Championships .
In January 2019 Knasche decided to quit the pole vault and focus on other things, which she announced on April 23.
Knasche was part of the B-team of the German Athletics Association (DLV) until 2017 . In 2008 she joined the e-squad of the Schleswig-Holstein State Sports Association (LSV) and in 2011 the national squad .
