Karsten Dilla (born July 17, 1989 in Düsseldorf / North Rhine-Westphalia ) is a German athlete who specializes in the pole vault . Dilla is a sports soldier .

Athletic career

At the age of four, Karsten Dilla wanted to become a footballer and from then on stormed at SC Grimlinghausen , but over the years he lost the desire to kick, until at the age of ten his primary school teacher recommended that he switch to athletics, where he finally found the pole vault at TSV Bayer Dormagen .

Dilla won national youth and junior championships and reached the top positions internationally.

2011 was Dillas' most successful year. He was at the German Championships third in the hall and in the open air , U23 Vice European Champion and qualified for participation in the 2011 World Championships in Daegu , because he had increased m by ten centimeters to 5.72. He set this height several times and is so far his personal best outdoors (hall: 5.73 m).

In 2016 Dilla was German runner-up in Kassel with a height of 5.65 m, with which he also achieved the standard for participation in the European Championships in Amsterdam and was also nominated. At the end of June he mastered the Olympic standard at the pole vault meeting at Landauer Obertorplatz. In Rio he failed with 5.45 m in the qualification.

In 2018 Dilla won silver at the German Indoor Championships .
