The 46th German Indoor Athletics Championships took place on February 20 and 21 in front of 9,500 spectators in the Europahalle in Karlsruhe . Karlsruhe was the host for the fourth time.

The women of the LG Olympia Dortmund set the world record with the 4 x 200 meter relay. Danny Ecker won the pole vault with a new German record and Nicole Humbert with a championship record.
