The Hallesche Leichtathletik-Freunde eV is an athletics club from Halle (Saale) .
The club was founded in 1993, it promotes both popular and competitive sports. The current president is Ingrid Häußler , the club also includes former world-class athletes such as Karen Forkel and Ilke Wyludda . Every year at the beginning of the open-air season, the association organizes the Halle Werfertage.
The club currently has five training groups:
- The Javelin Group will of Maria Ritschel trained, the national coach for Javelin supervised earlier Silke Renk and Karen Forkel.
- The other throwing disciplines are supervised by the trainer René Sack . The best-known athlete in this group is the 2011 vice world champion Nadine Müller .
- The all-around group is trained by Wolfgang Kühne and Burkhard Gäbel. This group includes two decathletes , Norman Müller and Rico Freimuth , who have already scored over 8000 points.
- The group of runners is supervised by Wolfgang Thier.
- Andrea Petersen takes care of the young throwers.
Former active members of the association include Katja Wakan (2004-2006) and Sylvia Kühnemund (from 1999).
