LG NORD Berlin stands for NORD Berlin athletics community . The LG was founded in 1970 and currently includes not only the SC Tegeler Forst (founded in 1948) with around 1000 members, but two other athletics departments from other clubs. These are the athletics departments of the BSC Rehberge in Berlin-Wedding and the VfB Hermsdorf in Berlin-Reinickendorf .

From 1997 to 2009, the athletes of the Berlin TSC started for the LG NORD Berlin, which was awarded the Green Ribbon in 2001 for exemplary talent development in the club. In 2000, LG NORD Berlin (SC Tegeler Forst and Berliner TSC) won silver at the German team championship for schoolchildren and in 2002 bronze at the German team championship for young people, followed by the German youth team championship title for male youth in 2003.

The best-known top performers included the 1,500-meter runner Carsten Schlangen , the two-time Olympic participant (2008 and 2012) and the 2-meter high jumper Meike Kröger , who also represented the club several times internationally and both took part in the 2009 World Athletics Championships in Berlin .

In 2010 Carsten Schlangen won the silver medal at the 20th European Athletics Championships in Barcelona over 1500 meters.

In 2012, LG NORD Berlin was awarded the Commerzbank Green Ribbon for the best promotion of young talent in competitive athletics by the DOSB for the second time since 2002.

In 2013, LG NORD Berlin was able to take five athletes to the U20 European Championships in Rieti with Caterina Granz (1500 m), Jossie Graumann (high jump), Marc Koch (400 m and 4 × 400 m), Marcel Matthäs and Stephan Hartmann (long jump) / Send ITA and thus represent the largest association contingent within the DLV. In autumn 2013, the Dresden high jumper Raúl Spank (third at the 2009 World Championships in Berlin and best performance 2.33 m) moved to LG NORD Berlin and in 2015, surprisingly, became the German triple jump champion.

In 2015 high jumper Jossie Graumann was fourth at the U23 European Championships in Tallinn / EST and Marc Koch won the bronze medal with the DLV's 4 x 400 meter relay.

Most of the previous service providers at LG NORD Berlin were medium-distance athletes who were also used internationally. These include, for example, the German champions Franek Haschke , Jonas Stifel , Moritz Höft , Norbert Löwa , Holger Böttcher , the 3,000 meter junior European champion from 1997 Laura Suffa and the 800 meter runner Marlies Hartlieb (née Keil). But also in the sprint (Daniel Hechler U20 European champion from 1995 over 400 meter hurdles) and jump (Marius Hanniske U20 vice world champion 2004 in the high jump) the starting community was able to record international successes. Other top performers in the men's and women's field were the discus thrower Jessica Kolotzei and the 200-meter sprinter Maren Schulze , who also successfully participated in German championships several times. The former all-rounder and later discus and hammer thrower Mariama Jamanka came to bobsleigh through athletics and became an Olympic champion in the women's two-man bobsleigh at the Olympic Games in Pyeongchang in 2018 as a pilot.
