Marc Koch (born May 24, 1994 in Berlin ) is a German athlete who specializes in long sprints . He also runs seasons .

career path

2014 was marked by the Abitur. In the winter semester 2014/15 he studied industrial engineering at the TU Berlin and later at the Beuth University for a bachelor's degree .

Athletic career

2013 Koch had his hitherto best year when he 400 yards German youth champion in both the Indoor Championships and at the Youth Championships outdoors was and at the U20 European Championships in Rieti fifth place with the 4 x 400-meter relay team finished .

In 2015, Koch was able to secure the title of German U23 champion with the 4 x 400 meter relay and came third over the 400 meters. He also occupied this with the 4 x 400 meter relay at the U23 European Championships in Tallinn with which he ran to 5th place at the German Championships . During a stay of several months abroad to improve his English skills, he was supported by British trainer Tony Hadley to improve his speed.

In 2016, Koch became German indoor runner-up over 400 meters in his first final race in the adult class and achieved 6th place at the German championships over this distance. The German Athletics Association (DLV) nominated him for the 4 x 400 meter relay at the European Championships in Amsterdam , which reached 8th place.

In 2017, Koch was German indoor champion in Leipzig over 400 meters with a personal best in 46.40 s and qualified for the European Indoor Championships in Belgrade .

Koch is part of the B-team of the German Athletics Association (DLV) .

Marc Koch starts for the LG North Berlin and was previously with the Reinickendorfer Füchsen .
