Jossie Graumann (full name: Jossie Marie Joelle Graumann ; born March  18, 1994 in Port-au-Prince , Haiti ) is a German athlete who specializes in the high jump . She also competes in sprints .

career path

Graumann graduated from high school in 2016 and has been studying elementary school education (BA) at the Humboldt University of Berlin since the 2016/17 winter semester .

Athletic career

Jossie Graumann initially did gymnastics , later played basketball , before finding her way to athletics through a neighbor, with whose daughters she always played in the garden.

In 2010 she came 4th in the German U18 championships in high jump and was German U18 runner-up in 2011 .

In 2012 Graumann took 4th place in the German Youth Indoor Championships as well as in the German U20 Championships in high jump

2013 was her most successful high jump year to date. At the German championships Graumann made it to the 6th place and in each case to the 3rd place in the German U20 championships and the German U23 championships .

In 2014, she showed her consistency in the high jump with a 4th place in the German indoor championships , a 3rd place in the German U23 championships and a 7th place in the German championships .

In 2015 Graumann became German U23 runner-up , came 4th at the U23 European Championships and took 5th place at the German Championships .

In 2016 Graumann continued to improve and climbed the podium at the German Championships for the first time by taking 3rd place with 1.84 m. At the "DLV Olympic Farewell" on July 29th in Mannheim-Feudenheim , she set a personal best in the open air with 1.90 m.

In 2017 Graumann was German indoor runner-up with 1.89 m. In January she had already fulfilled the norm for participating in the European Indoor Championships in Belgrade with a personal best of 1.92 m at the indoor high jump meeting in Unna . There she came in 5th place with her personal best of 1.92 m. On June 11th, Graumann also improved her outdoor best in Regensburg to 1.92 m. In Erfurt she became German runner- up with 1.90 m . In mid-July she was nominated by the Allgemeine Deutsche Hochschulsportverband (adh) for the Summer Universiade in Taipei , where she came fourth with 1.88 m.

Club membership

Graumann was with TV Konstanz until 2012 and has since started for LG North Berlin / SC Tegeler Forst (parent club).
