Denise Krebs (born June 27, 1987 in Heilbronn , Baden-Württemberg ) is a German middle-distance runner . She also competes in long seasons .

Career

In 2006, Krebs became German indoor champion and German youth champion in the U20s in the 1500 meter run for adults . In this age group, she also led the German annual best list over the 1500 meters at the end of the year. Internationally she was eliminated from the Junior World Championships (U20) in the preliminary run.

In 2007, 2008 and 2009, Krebs was German Junior Champion (U23) over this distance . At the U23 European Championships in 2009 she ran in Kaunas ( Lithuania ) in eleventh place. In 2008, Krebs was the first German champion over 1500 meters in the adult area and had already won bronze at the German championships in 2007 . In 2009 she was able to defend the title and also won the 3 x 800 meter relay together with Monika Merl and Janina Goldfuß . She won the European team championship in the team competition.

In 2010 and 2011, Krebs became German indoor champion over 1500 meters. In both years she started at the European team championship , in Bergen she was twelfth and in Stockholm eighth. She also ran in 2011 at the World Military Championships in Rio in second and in the Universiade in Shenzhen in fifth place. After first two Russians and then the winner Aslı Çakır Alptekin were disqualified for doping , Krebs was subsequently awarded the silver medal in 2015.

In 2012, Krebs became German runner-up and qualified for the European Championships in Helsinki , where she reached the semi-finals. Due to the doping problem mentioned above, Krebs would later have been a participant in the European Championship finals.

In 2013 she won bronze at the German championships over 800 meters.

2014 cancer was about 1500 meters German Halle runner- and came at the German Championships to 3rd place

In 2015 and 2016 she was unable to win any precious metal at German championships. In 2016, Krebs achieved the required EM standard (4: 09.00 min), but was not nominated due to the performance after the qualification period. In addition, despite being in the top 45 on the Road-to-Rio list, they were not considered for the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.

In 2017, Krebs was second at the German indoor championships over 1500 meters.

In 2018, Krebs qualified for the final over 1500 meters at the German Indoor Championships , but was unable to take the run due to an injury. At the German Championships , she won bronze over 5000 meters with her personal best. In the final over 5000 meters at the European Championships , Krebs reached 14th place after she fell over an athlete who fell in front of her and sustained a tear as well as a tear in the outer ligament.

Krebs has been a member of the supplementary squad of the German Athletics Association (DLV) since the competitive sports reform 2017/18 and was previously in the B-squad of the DLV.

Club affiliations

Denise Krebs started for the Unterländer LG until 2005 and for TSG Heilbronn until 2007 . Then she started for TV Wattenscheid 01 until 2017 and since January 2018 for TSV Bayer 04 Leverkusen .
