Janina Goldfuß

Janina Goldfuß (born July 22, 1983 in Kierspe ) is a former German athlete .

Career

Janina Goldfuß started for TSG Valbert until 2000, where she was looked after by Frank Weidmann. Then she switched to TV Wattenscheid and joined Markus Kubillus' training group. There she became German youth champion in 2000 and German youth indoor champion in 2001 in the 800-meter run . In addition, she started in the junior women's race at the European Cross Country Championships in 2000 and took 50th place in the individual ranking and 15th place with the German team in the team ranking. In 2003 and 2004 she became German junior champion over 800 meters. In 2004 she switched to Tono Kirschbaum's training group within the club. In 2005 she was eliminated from the European Indoor Championships in Madrid in 2: 05.64 minutes in the lead-up and also remained at the European Athletics U23 Championships in Erfurt without any notable successes. In 2006, 2007 and 2009 she and her training partners Monika Merl and Kerstin Werner won the 3 x 800 meter relay at German championships three times . At the German Championships in 2009 she was also the first and only time German 800 meter champion, after she had to be content with the runner-up title in 2006 and 2007 . At the beginning of 2011, Goldfuß ended her athletics career.

The trained banker Janina Goldfuß has been working as a sports coordinator at the Saarland Athletics Association since May 2010, where she is involved in talent spotting.
