Kerstin Werner (athlete)

Kerstin Werner (born September 18, 1982 in Aalen ) is a former German middle-distance runner .

As a teenager, Kerstin Werner was able to collect several championship titles over her special routes and in cross-country running; In 2000 she took part in the U-20 World Championships, in 2001 she was runner-up in this age group over the 800-meter course. In 2003 she moved from TSV Hüttlingen to LAV Tübingen ; The sports student started working for TV Wattenscheid 01 in early 2005 .

At the German Championships in 2005 she was able to finish fifth over 1500 meters indoors; in the open air she came third in the same year. In 2006 she became German champion over 800 meters in the hall and German champion over 1500 meters at the championships in Ulm .

At the German Indoor Championships 2007 in Leipzig , she won another title over 1500 meters. In the road race over 10 kilometers she was with the team in 2007 as well as German champion in 2006 and 2007 in the 3 x 800 meter relay .

Due to long-term health problems, Kerstin Werner ended her athletic career in January 2010.
