Lussant is a French commune with 1,002 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Charente-Maritime in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine . Lussant belongs to the Arrondissement of Rochefort and the Canton of Tonnay-Charente . The inhabitants are called Lussantais .
geography
Lussant is located about eleven kilometers east-northeast of the city center of Rochefort on the Boutonne , which borders the municipality in the south. Lussant is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Tonnay-Charente in the north and north-west, Moragne in the north-east, Saint-Coutant-le-Grand in the east, Champdolent in the south and south-east, and Cabariot in the west.
