Vergeroux is a French commune with 1,208 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Charente-Maritime in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine . Vergeroux belongs to the Arrondissement of Rochefort and the Canton of Tonnay-Charente (until 2015: Canton of Rochefort-Nord ). The inhabitants are called Vergeroussois .
geography
Vergeroux is located about three kilometers northwest of the city center of Rochefort on the Charente , into which the motto flows here. Vergeroux is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Breuil-Magné in the north and northeast, Rochefort in the south and east, Saint-Nazaire-sur-Charente in the southwest and Saint-Laurent-de-la-Prée in the west.
The national route 137 crosses the municipality.
