Genouillé is a French municipality with 895 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Charente-Maritime in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine . The municipality belongs to the arrondissement of Rochefort and the canton of Tonnay-Charente . The inhabitants are called Genouillacais .
geography
Genouillé is about 16 kilometers northeast of Rochefort and about 32 kilometers southeast of La Rochelle . Genouillé is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Saint-Pierre-la-Noue in the north, La Devise in the north and east, Annezay in the east, Saint-Crépin in the southeast, Moragne in the south, Tonnay-Charente in the southwest and Muron in the west.
