La Forex is a French commune with 1,121 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the Charente-Maritime in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine . It belongs to the Arrondissement of Rochefort and to the cantons of Saint-Jean-d'Angély and Surgères .

The municipality was created as Commune nouvelle with effect from January 1, 2018 by amalgamating the previous municipalities of Vandré , Chervettes and Saint-Laurent-de-la-Barrière , which have the status of a Commune déléguée in the new municipality . The administrative headquarters are located in Vandré.

La Devise is located about 27 kilometers northeast of Rochefort on the Devise , which also originates here. La Devise is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Surgères in the north, La Crignolée in the north and north-east, Puyrolland in the east, Annezay in the south and south-east, Genouillé in the south and south-west and Saint-Pierre-la-Noue in the west and north-west.
