Chervettes is a former French commune of 166 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the Charente-Maritime in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine (before 2016: Poitou-Charentes ). It belonged to the Arrondissement of Rochefort (until 2017: Arrondissement Saint-Jean-d'Angély ) and the canton of Saint-Jean-d'Angély (until 2015: Canton Tonnay-Boutonne ). The inhabitants are called Chevrettais .

With effect from January 1, 2018, the previously independent municipalities of Vandré , Chervettes and Saint-Laurent-de-la-Barrière were merged to form Commune nouvelle La Devise and have the status of a Commune déléguée in the new municipality . The administrative headquarters are located in Vandré.

geography

Chervettes is about 40 kilometers east-southeast of La Rochelle on the Devise River . Chervettes is surrounded by the neighboring towns of Breuil-la-Réorte in the north, Puyrolland in the east and south-east, Saint-Laurent-de-la-Barrière in the south and Vandré in the west.
