The municipality Dragash ( Albanian Komuna e Dragashit or Komuna e Sharrit , Serbian Општина Драгаш Opština Dragaš ) is a municipality in Kosovo. It is located in the Prizren district . The administrative seat is the city of Dragash .
The municipality covers the main part of the settlement area of the Gorans in Kosovo.
geography
The Dragash municipality is located in the south of Kosovo. In the north it borders on the municipality of Prizren . There are a total of 35 villages in the municipality. The area is 435 km². Together with the municipalities of Prizren, Suhareka, Mamusha and Malisheva, the municipality forms the Prizren District .
population
The 2011 census showed a population of 33,997 for the municipality of Dragash, of whom 20,287 stated to be Albanians , 8,957 Gorans , 4,100 Bosniaks , 202 Turks , seven Serbs , four Ashkali , three Roma and three Balkan Egyptians .
33,806 declared themselves Muslims , nine as Orthodox , twelve gave no answer and five do not belong to any religious community.
