The municipality Klokot ( Albanian Komuna e Kllokotit , Serbian Општина Клокот Opština Klokot ) is a municipality in Kosovo. It is located in the Gjilan District . The official seat is the place Klokot .
history
The municipality of Klokot was established after Kosovo gained independence in 2008. It is one of the seven new municipalities introduced.
geography
The municipality of Klokot is located in the southwest of Kosovo. It only borders on the municipality of Vitia . There are a total of 4 villages in the municipality. The area is 24 km². Together with the municipalities of Gjilan, Kamenica , Parteš , Ranilug and Vitia, the municipality forms the Gjilan District .

Residents
The 2011 census showed a population of 2,556 in the municipality of Klokot, of whom 1,362 stated to be Albanians, 1,177 Serbs , 9 Roma and 1 Turkish. 1,360 declared themselves as Muslims, 1,786 as Serbian Orthodox and 9 residents have no faith.
