The municipality Ferizaj ( Albanian  Komuna e Ferizajt , Serbian Општина Урошевац Opština Uroševac ) is a municipality in Kosovo . It is located in the Ferizaj district . The administrative seat is the city of Ferizaj .

geography

The municipality of Ferizaj is located in the southeast of Kosovo. In the south it borders on the municipality of Kaçanik . There are a total of 38 villages in the municipality. The area is 345 km². Together with the municipalities of Han i Elezit , Kaçanik, Shtime and Štrpce , the municipality forms the Ferizaj district.

population

The 2011 census showed a population of 108,610 for the municipality of Ferizaj, of which 104,152 (95.90%) identified themselves as Albanians , 3629 as Ashkali , 204 as Roma , 83 as Bosniaks , 64 as Gorans , 55 as Turks and 32 Serbs .

107,121 declared themselves as Muslims , 413 as Catholics , 64 gave no answer, 45 as Orthodox and 41 do not belong to any religious community.
