The municipality Lipjan ( Albanian Komuna e Lipjanit , Serbian Општина Липљан Opština Lipljan ) is a municipality in Kosovo . It is located in the Pristina district . The administrative seat is the city of Lipjan .
The municipality of Lipjan is located in the west-west of Kosovo. In the south, the municipality borders on the municipality of Drenas , municipality of Fushë Kosova and municipality of Gračanica . There are a total of 70 villages in the municipality. The area is 422 km². Together with the municipalities of Pristina, Podujeva, Drenas, Obiliq, Fushë Kosova, Gracanica and Novo Brdo, the municipality forms the Pristina district.

The 2011 census showed a population of 57,605 in the municipality of Lipjan, of whom 54,467 reported to be Albanians, 1812 as Ashkali , 513 as Serbs, 342 as Roma , 128 as Turks , 42 as Bosniaks , 6 as Gorans and 4 as Balkan Egyptians .
56,384 declared themselves as Muslims, 572 as Catholics , 520 as Orthodox , 68 gave no answer and 6 have no faith.
