The municipality of Pristina ( Albanian  Komuna e Prishtinës , Serbian Општина Приштина Opština Pristina ) is a municipality in Kosovo. It is located in the Pristina district . The administrative seat is the city of Pristina .

The municipality of Pristina is located in the eastern center of Kosovo. It borders the municipalities of Podujeva in the north, Kamenica in the east, Novo Brdo , Lipjan and Gračanica in the south, and Fushë Kosova and Obiliq in the west. In the extreme northeast, the municipality shares a border with Serbia (Opština Medveđa ). There are a total of 41 villages in the municipality. The area is 572 km². With the municipalities of Fushë Kosova, Podujeva, Drenas, Obiliq, Lipjan, Gracanica and Novo Brdo, the municipality forms the Pristina district .

The Parku i Gërmisë is a park that is about ten kilometers east of Pristina. The park extends from the north near Llukar and Kolovica to the south to Lake Badovac .

The 2011 census showed a population of 198,897 for the municipality of Pristina. By 2017, this number is estimated to have risen to 211,755 assuming an average annual population growth of 0.93%.

In 2011 194,452 (97.8%) identified themselves as Albanians, 2,156 (1.1%) as Turks , 557 (0.28%) as Ashkali , 430 (0.22%) as Serbs , 400 (0.2%) as Bosniaks and 902 as members of other nationalities. 193,474 declared themselves as Muslims , 1170 as Catholics , 480 as Orthodox , 3048 gave no answer or were non-denominational.
