Koliq ( Albanian  also  Koliqi , Serbian Колић Kolić ) is a village in the municipality of Pristina in Kosovo .

geography

The village is located in the Gollak , a mountainous region 23 kilometers northeast of Pristina , and borders the municipality of Podujeva . The Batllava Lake is located about four kilometers north.

history

Various remains from late antiquity have been found in Koliq . They are to be included in the list of cultural monuments in Kosovo .

In the area of ​​today's Koliq there used to be a village that is referred to in 17th century sources as Gilasi and had a Roman Catholic population. Obtained in Koliq today Flurnamen Guri Glasit , Kisha e Glasit ( "Church of Glasi") and Reka e Glasit evidence of this former settlement. A German or Saxon population group had also lived in the village since the Middle Ages.

During the Kosovo war , Serbian troops carried out a massacre in Koliq in April 1999. 64 people who were on the run from Kosovo were stopped with their vehicles and executed on the roadside. The bodies could only be buried in an anonymous mass burial after the end of the war in June 1999.

The 2011 census recorded 466 inhabitants for Slivova. Of these, 464 identified themselves as Albanians (99.57%) and two stated a different ethnic group.
