Marec ( Albanian  also  Mareci , or Marevc / -i , Serbian Маревце Marevce ) is a village in eastern Kosovo , which belongs to the municipality of Pristina .

Marec is located east of the capital Pristina in the hilly highlands of Gollak .

Marec consists of the districts Rekekolla , Nizhnakolla , Bullovit / Bullaj , Vrajollaj , Markesh , Golemivada / Gulmivada , Bujakaj , Haxhovit , Shimçiq , Vakovc , vitia , Simojt , Mudripotok , Kllokoq , Pacaj , Metevit / Metaj , Gërbesh and Vllasalit , which is distribute a relatively large area. Historically, some of these districts were separate villages, but today they only have the status of localities in Marec.

The place name is a toponymization of the family name Marojevci . This in turn comes from the Croatian personal name Maroje (from " Marin ") with the suffix - evci . In the Middle Ages, numerous Ragusans and Saxons lived in this area .

The 2011 census recorded 432 inhabitants for Marec. All of them (100%) stated to be Albanians .
