The municipality Ranilug ( Serbian Општина Ранилуг Opština Ranilug , Albanian  Komuna e Ranillugut ) is a municipality in Kosovo . It is located in the Gjilan District . The administrative seat is the place Ranilug . According to an estimate from 2016, 3,831 people live in the community.

The municipality of Ranilug is located in the southeast of Kosovo. The municipal area covers 78.5 square kilometers.

politics

In the local elections in 2013 Građanska Inicijativa Srpska Lista (GISL) achieved the best result of all parties with 37.6% of the votes and therefore appointed the mayor of the municipality, Gradimir Mikić.

There is no court in Ranilug municipality, so the court in Gjilan is approached for legal issues of Ranilug municipality.

education

There is a pre-school, two elementary schools and two secondary schools in the community.

economy

The economy in the municipality is mainly based on milk production.

population

95.6% of the municipality's population are Serbian. The majority of the population (95.7%) belong to the Orthodox Church , the largest religious minority are Muslims , who make up 4.2% of the population.
