The municipality of Obiliq ( Albanian  Komuna e Obiliqit or Komuna e Kastriotit , Serbian Општина Обилић Opština Obilić ) is a municipality in Kosovo . It is located in the Pristina district . The administrative seat is the city of Obiliq .

geography

The Obiliq municipality is located in the center of Kosovo. In the north, the municipality borders on the municipality of Vushtrria , in the east on the municipality of Pristina , in the south on the municipality of Fushë Kosova and in the west on the municipality of Drenas . There are a total of 19 villages in the municipality. The area is 105 km². Together with the municipalities of Pristina, Podujeva, Drenas, Fushë Kosova, Lipjan, Gracanica and Novo Brdo, the municipality forms the Pristina district.

The 2011 census showed a population of 21,549 in Obiliq, of whom 19,854 were Albanians, 661  Roma , 578  Ashkali , 276  Serbs , 58  Bosniaks , 27  Balkan Egyptians , five  Gorans and two  Turks . 21,050 declared themselves as Muslims , 269 as  Serbian Orthodox , four as  Catholics , 186 gave no answer and one person did not admit to any religious community.
