The municipality Vushtrria ( Albanian  Komuna e Vushtrrisë , Serbian Општина Вучитрн Opština Vučitrn ) is a municipality in Kosovo. It is located in the Mitrovica district . The administrative seat is the city of Vushtrria .

geography

The municipality of Vushtrria is located in the center of Kosovo. It borders in the north on the municipality Mitrovica e Jugut , in the east on the municipality Podujeva , in the south on the municipality Obiliq , in the southwest on the municipality Drenas and in the west on the municipality Skënderaj . There are a total of 67 villages in the municipality, the area is 345 km². Together with the municipalities of Leposavić , Mitrovica, Skënderaj , Zubin Potok and Zvečan , the municipality forms the Mitrovica district .

population

The 2011 census showed a population of 69,870 in the municipality of Vushtrria, of whom 66,840 stated to be Albanians, 384 Serbs , 287 Turks , 143 Ashkali , 68 Roma , 33 Bosniaks , three Gorans and one Balkan Egyptian .

69,359 declared themselves Muslims, 15 Catholics, 386 Orthodox and six have no faith.
